The Orchard Beach Building

Bronx, NY

The Orchard Beach Maintenance & Operations Building in the Bronx is designed to enhance the management of Orchard Beach while providing an emergency response center.

The structure features a facade of precast concrete and bird-friendly glazing, incorporating a 33,000-square-foot maintenance yard. The building’s design takes inspiration from the Moses-era Beach Pavilion, blending with its surroundings while minimizing environmental impact.

Precast concrete sandwich panels streamlined construction and improved thermal performance. With insulation built directly into the panel, both the interior and exterior concrete surfaces remain visible, celebrating the raw material as a design feature.
